The pathogenic role of NLRP3 inflammasome has been established in several diseases like diabetes, silicosis, obesity, gout, acetaminophen-induced liver toxicity [22–29], unilateral ureteral obstruction [30, 31], acute ischemia/reperfusion-induced kidney injury [32], non-diabetic kidney disease [31] and obesity-induced glomerular injury [33]. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and silicosis.
