For example, THOC1 inhibits cell growth via induction of cell‐cycle arrest and apoptosis in lung cancer cells.30 PTEN was identified as a tumor suppressor and was mutated in a large number of cancers at high frequency, including breast, prostate, endometrium, ovary, colon, melanoma, glioblastoma, and lymphoma cancers.31, 32 This evidence implicates the use of TNKS inhibitors to target the Wnt pathway to combat lung cancer.38 These observations may prove to be clinically valuable for developing a new therapeutic target of cancer. This evidence concerns the gene PTEN and cancer.
