As a consequence, we found cancer stem cell-associated proteins, such as mmp2, mmp9, mmp13, mmp14, paxillin, Ras, src and c-myc [21, 22], as well as genes expressed in the immune system, such as C5 [23], C9 [24], and HMGB1 [25]. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is cancer.
