With these data in mind, the finding of a prognostic interaction between KRAS and PR in the present study suggest that further in-depth interrogation into the functional link between KRAS and stromal PR-signaling in pancreatic and other periampullary cancers may unveil important clues to their pathogenesis and open up for the development of novel treatment strategies.
