The present clinical trial revealed that consumption of synbiotic + lactic acid bread for 8 weeks among T2D patients had favorable effects on HbA1c, plasma SOD, and GSH-Px; however, we failed to find any significant effect on FPG, serum insulin, HOMA-IR, hs-CRP, and plasma TAC. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
