DNA methylation has been identified as a specific functional category of mutated genes in AML that includes mutation in DNMT3A, DNMT3B, DNMT1, Tet methylcytosine dioxygenase 1 and 2 (TET1, TET2), and isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 and 2 (IDH1, IDH2) genes [4].
