Using a direct binding model that included dissociation constants and kinetic parameters for omalizumab, IgE and omalizumab-IgE complexes, these authors could calculate from the data of 1,682 patients with allergic asthma or rhinitis who were included in a total of four clinical omalizumab studies that omalizumab could reduce IgE production to the normal rate of non-atopics in the long term. This evidence concerns the gene IGHE and rhinitis.
