Previously, we identified a population of quiescent colon cancer cells with strong stemness by PKH staining and a serum-free medium cultivation assay (quiescent colon cancer stem cells, QCCSCs) and reported that QCCSCs are resistant to chemotherapy but sensitive to the apoptotic effect of IFN-γ, which is caused by their high expression of IFN-γ receptors (IFNGRs) (2). The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
