STIM1 and pancreatic adenocarcinoma: STIM1, a major component of store‐operated calcium channels in regulating Ca2+ influx, has been reported to take part in several physiological and pathological processes.37, 38 Knockdown of STIM1 expression has been shown to increase the chemosensitivity of 5‐fluorouracil or GEM in pancreatic adenocarcinoma cell lines.23 However, Gualdani et al39 showed that knockdown of STIM1 expression dramatically reduced cisplatin cytotoxicity in non‐small‐cell lung carcinoma cells by inhibiting the DNA damage repair pathway.
