Therefore, our study further illustrated that: (1) After metastasis, the expression and distribution of dominant glucose transporters is altered so that cancer cells can survive in the brain, (2) GLUT3 plays a potent role in breast cancer brain metastasis, (3) GLUT3 expression is regulated by CREB, and (4) GLUT3 might be a potential target for the treatment of breast cancer brain metastasis. This evidence concerns the gene SLC2A3 and breast carcinoma.
