In the GE group, a significant increase was observed in diastolic BP (83.4 ± 3.8 mmHg vs 85.0 ± 3.7 mmHg, p = 0.001), fasting plasma glucose (5.3 ± 0.7 mmol/L vs 5.5 ± 1.1 mmol/L), fasting insulin (14.1 ± 6.4 mmol/L vs 16.4 ± 10.6 mmol/L), 2 h post-OGTT glucose (6.3 ± 2.8 mmol/L vs 7.2 ± 3.1 mmol/L), and insulin resistance (HOMA-IR 3.4 ± 1.7 vs 4.1 ± 2.8) (Figure 3 and Figure 4).
