Some of the clinical factors that are specific for different ocular surface diseases are the assessment of pain, the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and the platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in dry eyes, intra-ocular pressure, retinal ganglion cells in glaucoma, the appearance of bulbar conjunctiva in contact lens wear, soluble marker sCD163 in corneal graft rejection, and natural killer cell density in keratitis.
