Taken together, our data show that rapid molecular diagnostic tests (such as GenoType MTBDRplus assay and targeted PCR sequencing) that interrogate rpoB hot spot region and katG315 + inhA-RR will have a sensitivity of 98% for rifampicin resistance detection, 98% for isoniazid resistance detection and 96% for MDR-TB in Kuwait with 100% specificity. This evidence concerns the gene INHA and tuberculosis.
