To explore the genomic effect in detail, we conducted an extensive subgroup analysis and discovered that (1) in the patients of smaller tumor size and lower AFP level, “Non-TT” variant type had higher cumulative incidence of recurrence; (2) in the patients of lower tumor grade, microvascular invasion and higher AFP level, “Non-TT” variant type had lower cumulative incidence of metastasis; (3) in the patients with ascites and lower albumin level (usually advanced cirrhosis), “Non-TT” variant type had lower cumulative incidence of death (Fig. 5). The gene discussed is AFP; the disease is neoplasm.
