Additionally, although CRC tissues were not a perfect model for elucidating the relationship between β-catenin, Claudin-7, and E-cadherin due to heterogeneous β-catenin nuclear expression, we found a tendency toward frequent down-regulation of Claudin-7 and E-cadherin, and higher incidence of metastasis in CRCs with elevated β-catenin nuclear expression. This evidence concerns the gene CDH1 and colorectal carcinoma.
