Consistently, progression of LDHB-S162A-expressing tumor was notably diminished (Fig. 6d–f) and this inhibition was mostly recovered by excess LDHA expression (Fig. 6d–f), indicating that S162 phosphorylation of LDHB promotes tumor progression by upregulating glycolytic flux, lactate production and NAD+ regeneration, the same mechanism by which upregulated LDHA promotes aerobic glycolysis and tumor progression. This evidence concerns the gene LDHB and neoplasm.
