The development of pediatric gliomas has several hallmark differences, for example, they carry distinct marker mutation histone H3 K27M substitution and more frequently exhibit p53 alterations, while PTEN deletion and EGFR amplification are more rare compared to primary adult GBM (Suri et al., 2009), however more detailed studies on the differences between pediatric and adult gliomas have already been cited in review articles (Fangusaro, 2012; Sturm et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene PTEN and glioma.
