Research carried out by Rapetti-Mauss et al. indicated that KCNQ1 is a target gene for the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and that the loss of KCNQ1 promoted the disruption of cell–cell contact, thus contributing to EMT (epithelial–mesenchymal transition), cell proliferation, and invasion in colorectal cancer (Rapetti-Mauss et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene KCNQ1 and colorectal cancer.
