Considering that breast CSCs are the origin cell of breast cancer initiation as well as the driving force of breast cancer progression, TAMs/CXCL1 pathway in the tumor microenvironment may also play a critical role in modulating breast cancer progression and prognosis and has potential to be developed as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for breast cancer in the future.
