Based on our studies and analyses, the biomarkers with the best overall convergent functional evidence (CFE) for relevance to memory and AD were some new genes such as RAB7A, NPC2, TGFB1, GAP43, ARSB, PER1, GUSB, and MAPT (tau), as well as the well-known GSK3B, PTGS2, APOE, BACE1, PSEN1, and TREM2 (Table 3 and Fig. 3), with previous genetic and/or animal model evidence, that now have functional evidence in humans from our studies. The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
