At present, SORBS2 cannot be considered a definite disease gene for HS with WH, given the lack of: (i) additional data concerning the relationship between SORBS2 and hair morphogenesis; (ii) other HS patients/pedigrees with SORBS2 mutations; and (iii) evidence for pathogenicity of the identified mutation in the present WB and IF experiments. Here, SORBS2 is linked to histiocytic sarcoma.
