As expected, compared with the normal weight group, the overweight/obese group were at a reduced risk of incident AD (HR=0.70, 95% CI: 0.56-0.89), after adjustment for age, sex, APOE Ɛ4 status, cognitive diagnosis, education, tobacco and alcohol use, LDL-C and metabolic status. This evidence concerns the gene APOE and Alzheimer disease.
