MTNR1B and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Our study on genetic variants of MTNR1B showed that the frequency of the risk G allele of rs10830963 (44.17%) was higher in patients with T2DM than in the control group (P < 0.01) and was higher than that in the African (2.70%), European (28.80%), East Asian (42.30%), South Asian (43.00%), and American (19.00%) populations (Auton and Abecasis, 2015).
