Although our comprehensive DNA methylome analyses revealed that the tumor‐promoting functions of UHRF1 in RB are largely independent of its role in DNA methylation (Kan et al., 2017), UHRF1 may exert other functions as an epigenetic regulator in RB as it is known to interact with modified/unmodified histones and several chromatin modifiers to regulate gene expression (Bronner et al., 2013; Unoki, 2011). The gene discussed is UHRF1; the disease is neoplasm.
