Immediately after unloading of the skin with shear (combined with pressure), the median skin IL-1α concentration (pg/ml) was increased compared to baseline in all three groups (control group 57.0 (29.5-167.1) vs. 19.1 (12.4-43.4) (P < 0.01), DM PNP- group 50.5 (25.6-143.4) vs. 9.7 (5.8-16.4) (P < 0.01), and DM PNP+ group 43.5 (21.3-61.6) vs. 15.5 (10.6-33.8) (P < 0.01)). This evidence concerns the gene IL1A and diabetes mellitus.
