To explore putative miRNA-based co-regulation followed by the suppression of the IGFBP6 gene, we inhibited expression of this gene in MDA-MB-231 cells, a model cell line for basal-like breast carcinoma, by shRNA, then we have traced secondary and tertiary effects of this knockdown to LAMA4, a laminin encoding gene that contributes to the phenotype of triple-negative breast cancer. Here, LAMB2 is linked to breast carcinoma.
