The results of Western blot and flow cytometric assays indicate that the flavonoid fisetin (3,3′,4′,7-tetrahydroxyflavone, Figure 1) effectively suppresses the apoptosis, metastasis, angiogenesis and invasion of cancer cells via ERK1/2-, Akt/NF-κB/mTOR- and p38 MAPK-dependent NF-κB signaling pathways (94, 95). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and cancer.
