VEGFA and vitreous hemorrhage: Four eyes of 4 patients were excluded during the follow-up visits: one patient developed preretinal membranes causing tractional detachment and another developed vitreous hemorrhage in the eye; both of these patients were submitted to pars plana vitrectomy; another two eyes developed macular edema and were treated with intravitreal anti-VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) injections.
