To completely “include” patients with bacterial infection, the cut-off values that gave 100% sensitivities were generated by PCT > 0.115 ng/mL and CRP > 31.67 mg/dL, whose values were higher than the PCT (0.05 ng/mL) and CRP (3 mg/dL) guidance values in predicting suspicious infection in clinical practice. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is bacterial infectious disease.
