To understand which immune cell types respond at early stages of infection, we first characterized the tissue-resident innate lymphoid cell (ILC) population in the SILP.11 In uninfected wild type (WT) C57BL/6 mice, ILC1s (Lin−NKp46−CD127+Tbet+), ILC2s (Lin−NKp46−CD127+GATA3+), and ILC3s (Lin−NKp46−CD127+RORγt+) were prominent while a small population of NK cells (Lin−CD127−NKp46+) was also present (Fig. 1c).
