Recently, a study revealed that patients with chronic Hepatitis B and cirrhosis had lower DP‐T, CD4+ T, and CD8+ T cell counts than the normal population.9 Our comparison of T cell subsets between the two groups also revealed that the HBsAg(+) group had a lower CD4+ T cell count than the HBsAg(−) group. Here, CD4 is linked to chronic hepatitis B virus infection.
