ZFYVE27 and epilepsy: In pentylenetetrazol (PTZ)-kindled mice, protrudin protein levels were significantly reduced in both the hippocampus (Control, 1.0 ± 0.104; Epilepsy, 0.543 ± 0.098; P = 7.180×10−9) and adjacent neocortex (Control, 1.017 ± 0.174; Epilepsy, 0.645 ± 0.123; P = 3.131×10−5) compared with the levels in the corresponding controls (Control, n = 10; Epilepsy, n = 10) (Fig. 1c).
