In this study, we used protein interaction assays to determine the binary interactions between the tBRCT domain and mTORC2 subunits, evaluated the impact of mTOR inhibition on the transcriptional function of the tBRCT, evaluated the impact of mTOR signaling on BRCA1 recruitment to DNA damage-induced foci and determined the breast cancer cell line response to mTOR inhibition dependent upon BRCA1 expression and mutation. The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
