We did not evaluate the effect of diabetes and phenolic acids administration on the markers connected to inflammation (e.g., IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, IL-18, tumor necrosis factor α), apoptosis (for instance caspase 3 or p53), or cellular function (such as adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase, mitochondrial transcription factor A, or phosphoinositide 3-kinase) in the cardiac tissue.
