Aberrant expression of ADNP has been reported to mediate intestinal cell growth, proliferation in specific types of sarcomas and neuronal tissue and to modulate expression of E2F-regulated genes as well as PI3K/ AKT signalling [15,[18], [19], [20]] suggesting that it may play an oncogenic role in specific tumour types or cellular environments. The gene discussed is ADNP; the disease is neoplasm.
