In January 2012 the Advisory Committee on Breast Cancer Screening agreed to implement this and there is now equitable provision of MRI screening (aged 30–49) and annual mammography screening from 40-69 years in BRCA1, BRCA2 and TP53 carriers (no mammography for TP53) in England.11 The protocol for MRI screening included those at ‘equivalent’ high risk to a BRCA1/BRCA2 mutation carrier. Here, BRCA1 is linked to breast cancer.
