Single nucleotide polymorphisms of some genes have been shown to be associated with the risk or prognosis of glioma, such as Interleukin 4 Receptor (IL-4R), EGF containing fibulin extracellular matrix protein 1 (EFEMP1), Regulator of telomere elongation helicase 1 (RTEL1), Cocaine and amphetamine regulated transcript (CART) and Isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) (5–9). Here, CARTPT is linked to central nervous system cancer.
