Interestingly, previous evidence has documented downregulated levels of microRNA‐486‐5p (miR‐486‐5p) in HCC and further indicated that miR‐486‐5p inhibits the progression of HCC via negative regulation of its target gene, phosphoinositide‐3‐kinase, regulatory subunit 1 (alpha) (PIK3R1) (Huang et al., 2015). Here, PIK3R1 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
