KDM1A and acute myeloid leukemia: These findings were in agreement with Cusan et al. ([85], see above) and were also supported by the results of Maes et al., who found that, upon pharmacological LSD1 inhibition, in human AML cell lines, activation of certain genes associated with macrophage/monocytic differentiation, like S100A12, ANXA2, and LY96, preceded detectable changes in local histone marks or global H3K4me2 levels, leading to blast differentiation and reduced self-renewal and growth [89].
