Similar results were obtained when normal human astrocytes, tumor propagating cells and differentiated glioblastoma cells were treated with S2101, a synthetic LSD1 inhibitor, which selectively affected only the cell viability of tumor propagating cells, suggesting that LSD1 could be a putative therapeutic target in tumor stem-like cells in glioblastoma patients [94]. The gene discussed is KDM1A; the disease is glioblastoma.
