APOB and Venous thrombosis: In contrast, previous observational evidence did not suggest an association between triglycerides and venous thrombosis,28,29 although other lipid measures (in particular apolipoprotein B and lipoprotein[a]) were inversely associated with venous thrombosis mortality in a meta-analysis of over 700 000 participants from the Emerging Risk Factors Collaboration.29 Our result was consistent across 3 of the 4 MR methods and was replicated using data from the INVENT consortium, an independent data source for genetic associations with the outcome.
