AKT1 and nasopharyngeal carcinoma: It is well known that c-Myc, as a classically oncogenic factor,40 is a downstream and positive regulator of PI3K/AKT signaling,41 but it negatively modulates p53.41,42 Our recent study confirmed that there is a PI3K/AKT/c-Myc/P53/miR-133a-3p signaling axis in NPC.42 Moreover, our prior study reported that FOXO1-suppressed PI3K/AKT signaling.12 Therefore, we speculated that FOXO1-suppressed MYH9 protein expression by regulating the PI3K/AKT/c-Myc/P53/miR-133a-3p pathway.
