Pterostilbene was shown to modulate tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), by modulating MUC1.28 High MUC1 mRNA expression is correlated with poorer overall survival, and pterostilbene-based inhibition subverted the tumor-microenvironment to an anti-tumoral state by reducing stemness induction of TAMs. Here, MUC1 is linked to neoplasm.
