In the hemocytes and fat body, the transcriptional expression levels of phenoloxidase subunit 2 precursor (PPO2), CTL10, and peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRP-S1) were increased with infection, whereas the gene expression levels of ecdysteroid-regulated 16 kDa protein (ESR16) and 14-3-3 protein zeta (14-3-3z) decreased with infection (Figure 3A,B).
