It was observed that, after TMZ treatment of recurrent GBM samples, PrPC expression is increased, possibly contributing to the acquisition of resistance through the binding and inhibition of nuclear translocation of the transcriptional receptor prostate apoptosis response-4 (Par-4) [45], which normally favors apoptosis via the inhibition of the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl2 [142].
