MAPT and tauopathy: We found that treatment with either NQTrp or Cl-NQTrp rescued the eye neurodegenerative phenotype, reduced the accumulation of hTau in the larval eye tissue (25 and 70% reduction for NQTrp and Cl-NQTrp, respectively), reduced Tau hyperphosphorylation, increased the climbing ability, enhanced the lifespan, and led to an overall amelioration of tauopathy-related defects when compared to untreated counterparts (Frenkel-Pinter et al., 2016, 2017).
