Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is immunosuppressive in nature preventing the production of TH1 cytokines (such as IL-2, IFN-γ, and TNF-α), increased circulating levels have been found in several types of cancer including oral squamous cell carcinoma and are correlated to a negative prognosis (14, 15). Here, IL10 is linked to oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma.
