Among our initial screen of eight retinoid derivatives, we found bexarotene (Bex), (diagram in Fig. 3a), which was approved by the FDA for treating cutaneous T-cell lymphoma [27], was able to function as a TR4 antagonist to suppress TR4 function in PCa cells (see Fig. 3c, d).
