Interestingly, patients with PICALM-MLLT10 fusions overexpress HOXA cluster genes including HOXA7, 9, 1044,45 similar to the NP23-NHD13 mice characterized in this report, suggesting importance of HOXA cluster gene overexpression in the genesis of a thymic AML. This evidence concerns the gene HOXA7 and acute myeloid leukemia.
