Interestingly, in a previous study on the standardization of MYC protein expression by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and its correlation with MYC gene rearrangements by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) in BL and DLBCL, we detected few BL cases lacking MYC protein expression despite carrying a translocation involving the MYC gene17. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is Burkitt lymphoma.
