Nuclear receptors play important roles in development and homeostasis [51,52] and are molecular targets for various therapies, including anti-cancer therapies, e.g., tamoxifen targeting ERα [53], enzalutamide targeting AR [54], hormone replacement, e.g., benzothiophene raloxifene targeting ER [55], immune system modulation dexamethasone targeting GR [56] and metabolic diseases, e.g., clofibrate and gemfibrozil targeting PPARα and γ [57,58]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARA and cancer.
